Child Protection is the responsibility of every adult. At Street Mentors Network, we partner with organizations like the Child Protection Network in line with the International Child Right Approach which involves recognition of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) as our encompassing and holistic framework guiding all actions relating to children. Our work is in line with Core Human Rights Principles which are:

• - Universality and inalienability, Interdependence and Indivisibility, Transparency and Accountability, as well as Human Dignity

• - We offer intervention in cases of Child Abuse, child negligence, child trafficking and general issues concerning the child.

With our triple-step transformation program, we provide an on-the-street mentorship program for a period of one to three months. During this period, we get to meet and create connections with the children, learn their lives and stories, and provide mental and emotional support as we prepare them for life off the streets. In the seconds phase of the program, we partner with appropriate organizations to provide shelter for the kids who are ready for a life away from the streets.

During this period, the children go to school, live with other kids and grow a better life. The third phase is adoption or reconciliation with their families or communities. If neither happens, the child will continue life with our homes till they can stand on their own.

Every child is best positioned for the future with holistic education which includes vocational training on skillsets that matter now and in the future. We ensure that every child we work with learns at least one important skill that can be developed and used to make a decent living.

We provide weekly, food, clothing, basic toiletries for personal hygiene and basic comfort.

Many children on the streets do not have access to the traditional education system of classrooms and teachers. This is where we step in with alternative education, addressing the emotional, behavioural, academic and social needs of the individual child, especially as most of these kids need specialized training outside of the traditional education system.
